Somewhere between where we were and where are we going?
Fight or flight?
We already fought by coming out for a peaceful protest.
I remember telling mum these youths somewhere in their heart knew they will die, it wasn’t a matter of God forbid, it’s now “even though all die na die, e go pay make e be God’s time”.
Fela sang in Sorrow, Tears and Blood about why people never choose to speak out “FEAR”,
but the youths came out against all odds, religion, tribe, sexual orientation speaking the same language #ENDSARS
Both physically and Online presence but at home and in diaspora
It was a beauty how the protest evolved from
#endSARS > #endSWAT > #endPoliceBrutality > #endBadGovernance
The Youth of our generation did that.
Some of our parents understood
A child should be able to make it and God’s willing take care of them in their old age, should we have to suffer through school, have a glimpse of making it and be killed for that?
Should living be a curse?
Should making a life for yourself be a sin?
If you can’t take flight, what the hope for your children?
What will it take to build a new Nigeria?
